Date question
[edit]The first American party to see it, led by Jedediah Smith did arrive 1826, but if Thomas Virgin was badly wounded in an attack by Mohave people, that mean that he came in the second trip to California, and that was 1827. So Thomas Virgin was not in the first party to see the river. אביהו (talk) 18:57, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
Naming
[edit]The National Park Service says: "It is believed that the Virgin River was named 'La Virgen' by Spanish Catholic Missionaries in honor of the Virgin Mary."75.169.147.21 (talk) 22:14, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
